Axe or Sword
What is better Axe or Sword?
I been been playing with a warrior alot and i was told axes are so much better for PvE and Swords were the better one for PvP. What is your guys thoughts on that and why? Also which spells would work the best?

Well i used to play my warrior w/ axe for about a month, then switched to sword cuz i wanted to see what the hype was all about. Ended up liking swords a lot for pve and pvp alike. Then one day about 2 weeks ago i decided to make a pvp hammer warrior just to try that out and i will say that the hammer is definently good for knockdowns and that is fun but i thouroughly enjoy the hamstring affect you get from swords and coupled w/ berserkers stance(i think that is the elite i am using atm cant remem for some reason) well anywayz...w/ it hitting so fast and gaining the regen back w/ a zealous sword hilt i am enjoying it very much. As for axes...kinda gave them up...so my suggestion to you is to try them all out for yourself and just switch your skills around a bit, then get your refund points back and do it again. As for the best skills? experiment and find combos..the best skills are usually the ones that utilize combos(bleeding, wound, final blow) and also skills that compliment what your party is trying to do such as cripple fleeing foes while your team drops lightning into their skull. Go out and experiment a bit...there is no penalty to losing in an arena.

Hmm. . . I prefer sword for PvE and I haven't used my warrior in PvP yet. When I do use my warrior in PvP I will only use hammer knockdown is just down right cool and hard to beat.

Hmm hammers..
I like hammers they do alot of damage but attack so much slower. Maybe i should use frenzy and it would be unstoppable. I should test it out more sounds good.

Axe is better. It has more adren instead of energy based skills, and you can use your energy for skills like for great justice and gain adren even faster, then spam as many +damage adren attacks as you want.
In contrast to sword, who's best attack is probably final slash, which resets all your adren. Axe also nets you bigger crits.

But adrenaline itself has a drawback.
For example Savage slash vs. distrupting chop.
By the time you have built up enough adrenaline to use distrupting chop, your team mate might be dead already from lightning strikes.
Not to mention relying on adrenaline just pure sucks when you have wards/aegis going on.
Personally I used to use axe, but switched over to swords. Atm, I think I'm doing more dmg than I did before. However set differently, axes can do just as much dmg.
It all comes down to personal taste. A good way would be to pick whichever one you think looks coolest ;p
As for hammer... it seems to be horrible, cept for the knockdown effect. It's not as damaging, coz your adrenaline builds up too slowly.

Honestly this game is so well balanced that i will tell you that any of the three weapons can be equally as good as long as you use them w/ the best skills for what you like to do or what you are trying to do w/in your party

Good example is when a party is looking for a knockdown hammer warrior that doesnt mean that its cuz hammers are uber 1337 it just means that particular party would like to have the skills that come w/ hammer to better suit their needs

Malchiel is very right in his point. Sword have more control while axes have more pure damage.
Both can be very powerful--and, of course, so can hammers.
Everyone has already said what I basically would have said, but a minor point to make about using frenzy with hammer--it is generally not prudent.
Use berserker's stance to attack faster, if you really want the damage, or even better yet, battle rage for extra adrenaline and speed in order to use the high adrenaline cost hammer skills.
This is because hammer requires you to not use a shield, it is quite painful to take double damage with frenzy. Thus other options are far more preferable.
No matter what anyone says though, go by your own playstyle and preference--and, though this point may be scorned by some, aesthetic taste.

I like that good thing to work on. I will have to try all of them.
